What the training covers

Delivered by Jacqui McPeake from JACS Allergen Management, this interactive session takes the mystery out of allergens and intolerance. Over 2–3 hours you’ll learn practical, easy-to-apply skills, including:

  • What food allergies and intolerances really are
  • The difference between allergy, intolerance and coeliac disease
  • Legal responsibilities for allergen information
  • How to manage cross-contamination
  • Allergen risk and safe food handling in real-world settings

At the end, Jacqui leads a short quiz. Pass it and you’ll receive a certification showing you’ve completed the training.

We’ll provide complementary refreshments on the day.

Where and when?

All sessions take place in person at our TED Centre in Burnley, right at our main depot — a relaxed, friendly setting engineered for learning and participation.

"The Dysphagia Workshop was very good. The fact that it was run by a professional chef made a massive difference for me. I have worked in food all my working life, healthcare is new to me, so the terminology and demonstrations made sense and put things into perspective for me.”

“The BIG Event was a great experience. It was really nice to see and meet the suppliers and, of course, the people who run Birchall Foodservice!! I recommend attending this show.”

"Myself and some of my team recently attended the dysphagia training day you provide, and this was some of the best training we have attended. The instructor was very knowledgeable, and we really like that the day was a mixture of theory and hands on"

“I found the Less is More event really informative and useful. I picked up some great tips and insights about menu design, profit margins and creating an unforgettable dining experience for guests. I’m glad I attended and I would definitely recommend future Less is More events to caterers.”
